The cult drama was based on Stephen king's story "Rita Hayworth of Shawshank". The film is set in the late 50s of the last century. Young financier Andy Dufresne for double murder sentenced to life imprisonment, but he categorically denies any involvement in the crime. His term Andy is sent to serve in one of the most famous prisons – Shawshank, from which no one has ever managed to escape. In prison, the guy faces the harsh realities of the prison world, a world where there is no place for compassion, and around only cruelty. Andy is repeatedly the victim of sexual harassment, but he resists to the last. Soon Dufresne's prison life gets a little better, and he even finds a friend, who becomes a black prisoner red...
